The Return of the Carnival Parade in 2024

Great Yarmouth Arts Festival is thrilled to announce the much-anticipated return of the Great Yarmouth Carnival Parade in 2024, the vibrant and colourful procession will once again grace the streets of our beloved coastal town.


Calling All Community Groups!

Organisers of the Great Yarmouth Arts Festival extend a warm invitation to local community groups to participate in this year’s Carnival parade. Whether you’re a dance troupe, a school band, or a community organisation, this is your chance to showcase your creativity, tradition, and spirit.


Event Details:

Date: Saturday, September 21, 2024
Time: Parade kicks off at 12:00 noon


Starting near the seafront in Anchor Gardens, the parade will wind its way through the heart of Great Yarmouth, passing through Regent Road, Market Place, King Street, and culminating in a grand finale at St George’s Park.


What to Expect:
Participants will dazzle spectators with their magnificent carnival costumes, lively dance routines, and captivating displays.


Musical Accompaniment:
The Dixie Mix Jazz Band will provide toe-tapping tunes, and local radio station Harbour Radio will keep the energy high.

“We want to help communities across the borough to be part of this vibrant and exciting event and celebrate their involvement.” says Pat Howe, one of the event organisers. “Whether you’re a seasoned performer or a first-time participant, there’s a place for you in the parade.”


Costumes Available:
For those without costumes, fear not! The festival has an array of carnival costumes available for borrowing. Individuals and families can join the festivities by booking their costumes in advance – contact Julie Stimpson.

Extended Festival Program:
In addition to the Carnival Parade, the Great Yarmouth Arts Festival will host an extended program of events from September 14th to 22nd. From art exhibitions to live performances, there’s something for everyone.
